Advent Calendar Day 18 : How I (almost somehow) Got Fooled By BriarWood University.
Right then, So I've just gotten the rare opportunity to go to a somewhat private university called "Briarwood" this morning.. or so i thought..
So last night, i got an email from someone claiming to be from a university called "BriarWood".. However, by coincidence, i was also watching an iCarly episode that had a school with the same name.. except it was a high school that looked like one of those fancy universities you'd have a rare opportunity to get accepted into.. (i.e. those techy/scientific schools like Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Brown, Princeton, Cornell, etc.)
However, the email i got from BriarWood apparently had some similarities to the one in iCarly, so i thought this looked like some scam a person is trying to pull on me, which it is somehow, So i had to inspect this email closely.. to make sure if it was a legit email..
So anyways, i decided to submit my application to briarwood (knowing that i probably won't be able to get one, i know that i might be rejected from the so called "university") waited until the next day,
So i asked the people at briarwood if they got the password for this account, and i waited..
So it apparently seems as if i'm the one of the only people (out of my friends) to ever recieve a scholarship there.. However, there were only a couple problems preventing me from going to that school.. so here, i will be listing some of them.. and tell you why you should never trust Briarwood..
Look, i know you wanna get me into briarwood and all but this is unacceptable, Maybe i was secretly rejected and this is just a fake login account made to pull some sort of prank on the rejected people like me, or maybe i have been at the wrong website this whole time. so i had check some other related websites to make sure.. i wasn't being fooled...
because if their page was on briarwood.com then why can't they just provide me with the password they forgotten..

Stage 1. The Inspection.
For some reason, i felt as if this email was a little suspicious, judging by the date and time it was sent on.. and Judging by my intelligence, I'd know that i wouldn'tve gotten these emails yet because i haven't graduated yet..
but i guess it probably doesn't matter..
Getting Invited..
So anyways, i decided to submit my application to briarwood (knowing that i probably won't be able to get one, i know that i might be rejected from the so called "university") waited until the next day,
and this morning, I have recieved another email from them saying that my application was accepted (somehow) followed by my login username, but no password was provided.. just some 5 digit code (if the login askes for one)
So i asked the people at briarwood if they got the password for this account, and i waited..
The Hard Hassle and why you shouldn't trust Briarwood.
So it apparently seems as if i'm the one of the only people (out of my friends) to ever recieve a scholarship there.. However, there were only a couple problems preventing me from going to that school.. so here, i will be listing some of them.. and tell you why you should never trust Briarwood..
#1. It's been over 8 hours and they have forgotten to give me my login password..
Or they must be kidding about the whole thing of me being invited.
Ok so, After i've sent the email requesting the password to my briarwood account, I haven't gotten any response from them.. or the password, so i had to look in the previous email, but in all of the previous emails from briarwood, i could not find my password anywhere.. Not even on the website. You call this an acceptance? |
because if their page was on briarwood.com then why can't they just provide me with the password they forgotten..
#2. They never provided me their link for me to login at (unless that was the right login page)
While reading through the emails, I have noticed another thing wrong was that not only have they never told me the password to my account but they have also never told me the link to where i should put this login info to..
So i thought to myself that maybe this may not be their school's address, so i decided to go to some other related domains to try and test the login info there..
So first i decide to try briarwood.net and apparently the domain is up for sale
This website may be available..? |
But that domain was up for sale, so off i go to try briarwood.biz
Of course, when i visit, I get greeted by this godawful page..
When i visit this site, I get some japanese on something about being a nurse.. |
And i know that BriarWood isn't Japanese, and they definitely wouldn't've sent me the letter about some nurse recruitment, And it definitely wouldn't've been in japanese either..
So off i go to briarwood.org and of course, it's a church..
And i know i want the university, and this isn't it..
So off i go to briarwood.info just to find out it refused to connect..
So off i go to briarwood.us which also refused to connect..
So off i go to briarwood.gov which refused to connect (obviously because i'm looking for .edu but i tried .gov because what the hell)
So off i go to briarwood.edu just to find out it tells me "YER CONNECTION AINT PRIVATE HERE YOU SHOULD TURN BACK"
your invalid |
Apparently, i shouldn't judge a book by it's cover so i had to see why that is.. (The certificate was invalid)
Turns out the certificate was invalid |
And so, i decided to go to briarwood.edu which was just a redirect to lincolncollegene.edu
so i had to do a google search, and it told me that this was some medical university, but according to the email, it didn't say which briarwood.. which was also another thing they forgot to address.. and so, this leads to the third problem..
I don't know where it is because of reason #3.
#3. They never provided me the location of The "Briarwood University" they were talking about..
"I don't know where it is.."
So after a while of searching, i got confused.. not knowing where briarwood is, or what the website was, or in fact, what the login to my account was.. so with those three things they have not provided, I have managed to find out one solution with these three "clues"..
Solution
So i thought that the answer to my problem was..
"They never invited me"..
Yeah, it appears as if they have rejected my application to join briarwood.. They have rejected my rare opportunity to join.
But then, i have realized something i should've realized before..
That this university actually doesn't exist here.. It makes sense to me..
It actually exist's outside of this universe, It exist's in another universe whereas i wouldn't be able to go there.. But how..? Well, it's easy..
Apparently, they didn't provide the website or the location of briarwood because they knew this email was in another universe, but they're in another universe so yeah..
So off i go to having to go through the painful process of creating another "hello kitty online account" which is extremely hard to get in 2017.. but i'm only doing this to create a blog which i've set up here at this link..
http://blog.hellokitty.com/cloggermore/
and this is because my old blog there has been destroyed by net neutrality.
in fact, maybe this is why i couldn't sign up on hello kitty online.. in fact, maybe that's why i can't play it either..
so yeah, epic fail..
but anyways, i gotta go..
